    Finding high-quality open educational resources used to be a challenge, but a number of curated OER collections have made the task much easier for educators.

  • Active OER: Beyond open licensing policies

    In 2015, the Polish government launched an online repository of open, Creative Commons Attribution-licensed e-textbooks, covering the core curriculum for primary and lower secondary education. After five years, open education activists finally saw their advocacy work bear fruit. In parallel, the government changed the textbook funding model, which translated into massive cost savings for parents and students.

  • Becoming an Open Educator

    Open course from Open Educational Practices in Scotland aimed at anyone who is curious about how free and open might change our approach to teaching and learning and has been designed for administrators, educators and facilitators in all sectors.

    Except for third party materials and where otherwise stated, when individual resources included in this course have other licences, this course content is made available under a CC BY 4.0 licence.

  • Bookings open for the OEPS Advisory Forum 2

    Bookings are now open for the second Opening Educational Practices in Scotland Advisory forum on Thursday 19th March 2015 at the Stirling Court Hotel, University of Stirling, FK9 4LA.

    Highlights of this free one day face to face event include a keynote by Laura Czerniewicz, an update on OEPS project progress and a series of interactive workshops during the afternoon. The forum will enable you to explore the latest developments in open educational practice and pedagogy, discover how the OEPS project can help your organisation and how you can get involved. It will also help you build your network of open educational practitioners.

    Professor Laura Czerniwicz is the founder and Director of the Centre for Innovation in Learning and Teaching (CILT) at the University of Cape Town and has worked in the field of educational technology at UCT for over a decade. She will be joining us via Video Conference.

  • OER15 Conference - ‘Mainstreaming Open Education’

    14th & 15th April 2015

    This year’s Open Education Conference (OER15) will take place at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff.

    OER15 is one of a series of annual International conferences which discuss research and practice in the adoption of Open Education in all sectors of Education and Training.
